Remote Learning (E-Learning) Update 4/6/2020

April 3, 2020

CEC Fort Collins Middle and High School Families,

As you may have heard by now, many school districts, including Poudre and Thompson, have closed their campuses to in-person classes until the end of the current school year. CEC has made a network decision to also close all its Colorado campuses through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Making this decision now is difficult; however, this will help the CEC teams plan for robust remote learning into May. Please plan on your child participating in Remote Learning (E-Learning) through May 12, 2020.

CECFC will continue to serve meals at the West and Innovation campuses through June. Click here for more information on meals, and please let us know if you have any questions about this service.

We know that making this transition has been challenging, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we continue to receive news about the spread of COVID-19 and its effect on Colorado schools. We also appreciate your willingness to support your children in their Remote Learning endeavors. This is an unprecedented time in history, and we are navigating uncharted waters. We could not be more proud at how our staff, students, parents, and guardians are adapting.

We will continue to communicate as we receive information, and we appreciate the communication we receive from you. Your encouraging emails have been a blessing to our staff during this time, and we hope you continue to let us know when you have questions, concerns, or want to share more uplifting messages.

Because we cannot celebrate our Class of 2020 in-person this year as planned, we are currently working on alternative options to make this milestone event as special as possible for our graduates and their families.  Mrs. Hockman and the middle school team are also working on alternative options for 8th grade promotion.  We will be sending updates about both these plans by next Friday, April 10.

Finally, we will be contacting you with more information toward the end of the semester about collecting books or school materials that your child may have checked out from CECFC

Many blessings to you and your families.  Stay well and stay connected. We love and miss all of our CECFC students and families.

Josh See, CECFC Head of School
