Foreign Exchange Student Information

Foreign Exchange students are welcome at Colorado Early Colleges Fort Collins High School if the student is able to secure a J-1 secondary student visa, which means the student is still considered a high school student. Students must provide CECFC with a copy of the J-1 Visa before they can be advised or attend classes.

Secondary Students must:

  • Be at least 15 years of age, but not more than 18 years and six months of age as of the program start date, or
  • Have not finished more than 11 years of primary and secondary school, not including kindergarten; and
  • Have not previously participated in a secondary school student academic year or semester exchange program or attended school in the United States in either F-1 or J-1 status; and
  • Have not already graduated from a secondary school in their home country.
Transcripts for foreign exchange students will only reflect courses taken while a student at CEC.
